Alloy Semi-Steel Roll

Alloy semi-steel rolls are produced by horizontal centrifugal compound casting or static casting processes. Carbon content typically ranges from 1.3% to 2.3%, with mechanical properties between steel and iron.

Microstructure and Properties

  • At carbon content of 1.3%~1.8%, the matrix structure is sorbitic, and the carbides consist of a small amount of fine pseudo-eutectic carbides, a large number of evenly distributed granular secondary carbides, and rod-shaped pro-eutectic carbides.
  • At carbon content above 1.8%, the matrix structure transforms into bainite or bainite + martensite, and the carbide content increases to 10%~15%.
  • Compared with cast steel rolls, it has higher hardness and improved wear resistance, and can be widely used to replace cast steel rolls.
